Canton River and adjacent islands from the latest surveys. Large unusual antique engraved map of Canton and Hong Kong, dated 1845.

With an inset map of the Canton river in upper right showing the position of the army along the coast of Hanan Island in 1841. This map has been made 3 years after the end of the war, when Hong Kong has been ceded to Great Britain. This rare map shows the Canton region, including Hong Kong Island, Lantau and Macao, along the Canton river. Which is now more commonly called the Pearl River, on which we can see the British colonies and forts. The map is engraved by Isaac Purdy.
